For a boot drive on a laptop, it is your best option with some side effects - see 'Cons'Ĭons: The only bad side effects I have seen is when you make the drive do a lot of random read and writes, it can pause the PC. ![]() As a 'game drive' it is your best option bar none. Pros: Stupid fast boot times, some apps load 200% normal speed. 3) Install OS and IMMEDIATELY run the tweak utility 4)Install chipset drivers 5) update bios if needed 6) ENJOY! 2)Setup voltage and speeds in bios correctly. 1)Have chipset drivers, raid drivers predownloaded, and the ssd tweak utlility from ocz forums ready before installing OS. If your thinking of going SSD, its worth it. Takes longer to POST than it does to load vista. And remember always manually adjust your memory voltage approprately, undervoltage = slow ram. Then used the tweak tool listed on OCZ forums and BAMO! the nightmare was over. Also i DL'd the chipset drivers seprately, the user disc has alot of garbage on it you really dont need. ![]() Overall Review: I paired this up with a Gigabyte EP45T-UD3LR, and 4 gigs of Patriot Cas7 ddr3. Cant wait to get another and raid it up for even faster speeds!Ĭons: Still new tech and tweaking is required. Pros: Speeds kick b*tt, even on stand alone with OS installed.
